The case is presentable, sturdy, and provides excellent protection for this vintage trumpet housed inside of it. The case is a burgundy color and has nice springy latches. This one comes with it's very nice original deluxe padded woodshell case, which has storage room and a double mouthpiece slot. It's very freeblowing with a beautiful centered singing tone. This trumpet plays very well as you would expect from an H&A Selmer Bundy. These were definitely built to withstand time and last. I believe this trumpet has been carefully stored for almost 60 years - it is in AMAZING original condition and does not show it's age. It's been recently play tested and inspected and is all ready to be played and enjoyed. This Selmer Bundy is complete with all of its original parts and everything is functioning properly. This horn is in really excellent original shape - there are no major dents but a few smaller shallow ones that don't effect playability. The trumpet has traditional style waterkeys which work perfectly. All slides move freely and have just been lubricated. Silvery valve plating is all intact, and the hard nickel plated pistons are in fantastic shape. You rarely see nice ornate hand engraving like this nowadays. Bell is engraved with "BUNDY H&A SELMER INC. Serial number is 30XXX indicating it was built in the 1950s when quality was top notch at the H& Selmer plant. This horn was designed to be high quality model for the serious trumpet student and it was made in the USA (Elkhart, Indiana). Finger buttons have decorative mother-of-pearl inserts in them.
99% intact (wow!) and has been well preserved showing mainly one spot of wear on the belltail. The beautiful original gold honey (amber) colored lacquer is approx.
